i bet you thought i would have posted something on here by now! BUT I DIDN'T, DID I? because i didn't have the internet. now i have the internet, so my life is back to normal and i can watch the office and hell's kitchen and 30 rock if it ever comes out. on a related (and startling) note, hulu.com does not work in japan. it is a sad day for internet tv. (but not really, because there are lots of other illegal tv sites; hooray!!)
anyway, i will give you a quick rundown of what happened while i didn't have real internet:
-we got off the plane and took a bus (limousine bus, mind you) to shinjuku
-mark met us LITERALLY as we stepped off the bus (alan was hugging him while he was still on the steps, and i have to admit... i was pretty sure alan was just so excited to be in tokyo that he had hugged a stranger)
-we dragged 200 pounds of luggage down the world's narrowest and steepest stairway into what we had ASSUMED was a ramen place, but soon found out was a restaurant specializing in tongue. good, though surprising.
-i was grumpy and tired
-we went out all night the next night and had an AMAZING TIME!!
-the next day i was sick, and grumpy and tired
-then we did normal day to day things and had fun and stuff, but i can't remember anything specific at the moment... so i will fill this part in later
-five days after we got here we had our first and only interview, after which we were hired as assistant language teachers for the school district of kawaguchi city!
-then we did lots of things that were fun; see the bullet point before last for more information
-now we are teachers and it is fun!
-alan and i have switched commute times: i have a 30 minute commute and he has an hour commute!
-we have the internet!
-everything is awesome!
ok, i will tell you more later. ask specific questions if you want; i'm sure i will remember more things worth telling if prompted. ok bai!!!!!! ja ne!
